Spain Writers: Paul Read

Paul was born without an idea in his head and intends to keep it that way. If 10 yrs in Spain has taught him anything, its that fixed positions and straight lines just donīt work. Better to work in circles, repeat yourself often and to take your coffee milky. Forced to spend a year at Seville University as part of a degree course in Spanish contemporary history, he discovered that the sky was actually much higher than his London background had led him to believe.On a quest to discover other geographical and cultural differences he moved to Toledo for 2 yrs and co-wrote a series of budget guide books on the neglected side of the city. Like many before him, he was eventually expelled for rent arrears and street agitation and so sought refuge, like Brenan, South of Granada. Here he trades words and work skills whilst restoring an abandoned olive farm.
