we were thinking of buying a house in spain and moving over there. but is now a good time to buy do you think? has anyone got any real baragins?

I suppose the real answer is that no-one knows if the property market will continue to fall or not.
My own guess is that it will keep falling for another year and then rise again, so it's a good time to buy if you can negotiate 10% or more off the asking price, not so much if you can't. If you don't need a mortgage though, you probably can get a discount of at least that (mortgages being as hard to come by in Spain as they are in the UK).
But regardless of the market, don't you think it might be a good idea to rent for a bit first? you never know, you might hate it...

Hi, we are moving to spain next April. Just got a bargain from an estate agent. If you are thinking of the Alicante area we have the name of an estate agent.

Ask a friend or a local about the current price of houses in Spain. Based on their answer you can judge by yourself if this is indeed the best time to buy the house or not.
